5 Ways to Survive a Shared Student house

So going to university was a last minute thing, for me. I didn't plan properly or save up. So I applied late to the university accommodation and ended up in a shared house with only two toilets and 2 shower between 6 students. Luckily all the bills were included in the rent. Here are my top 5 tips to live in a shared house.
  1. Be organised! Have a place where you put all your stuff, in the kitchen, fridge etc. And for, bathroom use, I will recommend a handy caddy basket, that you can take every time, to any shower that is available.
  2. Have a shower schedule, so that you don't ends up waiting for the shower. Either shower the night before or early in the morning. For me, everyone had different lectures times and different times they woke up. I always went straight to the shower as soon as I woke up.
  3. Do you part/role, from house chores to cleaning after yourself. Makes things easier for you and your house mates. If there is a house mate(s) not doing his/her part and you guys are not close, mind your business and worry about yourself . Don't want to cause trouble. But.if it gets out of hand, than start talking!
  4. Bleach before you use the bathroom and wipe the toilet sit with dettol spray (it is cheaper) or wipes.
  5. Be nice! And try and stay away from people who you might not like or vice versa- if it is that bad. However DO SOCIALISE and get to know your house mates and perhaps be close to at least 2 of them to enjoy the experience .
